T hat the slayer who kills anyone accidentally and unintentionally may flee there; and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.

لِيَهرُبَ إلَيها كُلُّ مَنْ قَتَلَ شَخصاً بِغَيْرِ قَصْدٍ أوْ بالخَطَأِ، فَيأمَنَ فِيها مِنْ قَرِيبِ المَقْتُولِ الَّذِي يَثارُ لِدَمِ القَتِيلِ.
