F or it was of the Lord to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, that might destroy them utterly, and that without favor and mercy, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Porquanto do Senhor veio o endurecimento dos seus corações para saírem ã guerra contra Israel, a fim de que fossem destruídos totalmente, e não achassem piedade alguma, mas fossem exterminados, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.
