T herefore, since these promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and bring consecration to completeness in the fear of God.

Ora, amados, visto que temos tais promessas, purifiquemo-nos de toda a imundícia da carne e do espírito, aperfeiçoando a santidade no temor de Deus.
