T hen the whole city was aroused and thrown into confusion, and the people rushed together; they laid hands on Paul and dragged him outside the temple, and immediately the gates were closed.

So that all the city was moved, and the people ran together; and they took Paul and drew him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.
