H is parents said this because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should acknowledge Jesus to be the Christ, he should be expelled and excluded from the synagogue.

Esto dijeron sus padres, porque tenían miedo de los judíos, por cuanto los judíos ya habían acordado que si alguno confesase que Jesús era el Mesías, fuera expulsado de la sinagoga.
