B alaam took up his speech and said: Balak, the king of Moab, has brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse Jacob for me; and come, violently denounce Israel.

Allora Balaam pronunciò il suo oracolo: «Balac mi ha fatto venire da Aram, il re di Moab mi ha chiamato dalle montagne d’Oriente. Vieni, disse, maledici Giacobbe per me! Vieni, impreca contro Israele!
