T hough the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls,

Anche se il fico non fiorirà e non ci sarà alcun frutto sulle viti, anche se il lavoro dell'ulivo sarà deludente e i campi non daranno piú cibo, anche se le greggi scompariranno dagli ovili e non ci saranno piú buoi nelle stalle,
