T herefore the word of the Lord will be to them: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little—that they may go and fall backward, and be broken and snared and taken.

Darum soll ihnen auch des HERRN Wort eben also werden: Gebeut hin, gebeut her; tut dies, tut das; harre hier, harre da; warte hier, warte da; hier ein wenig, da ein wenig, daß sie hingehen und zurückfallen, zerbrechen, verstrickt und gefangen werden.
