F or when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the Lord slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and of livestock. Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all the males that first open the womb; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.

dhe ndodhi që, kur Faraoni nguli këmbë të mos na linte të shkonim, Zoti vrau tërë të parëlindurit në vendin e Egjiptit, si të parëlindurit e njerëzve ashtu dhe të parëlindurit e kafshëve. Prandaj unë i bëj fli Zotit tërë meshkujt që çelin barkun, por shpengoj çdo të parëlindur të bijve të mi".
