H e read from it, facing the broad place before the Water Gate, from early morning until noon, in the presence of the men and women and those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.

Quindi lo lesse sulla piazza che sta davanti alla porta delle Acque, dallo spuntar del giorno fino a mezzogiorno, davanti agli uomini, alle donne e a quelli capaci di intendere; e le orecchie di tutto il popolo stavano attente al libro della legge.
