T hen Ezra came from before the house of God and went into the lodging place of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. There he ate no bread and drank no water, for he mourned over the returned exiles’ faithlessness.

Apoi Ezra a plecat dinaintea Casei lui Dumnezeu, şi s'a dus în odaia lui Iohanan, fiul lui Eliaşib. Cînd a intrat, n'a mîncat pîne şi n'a băut apă, pentrucă era mîhnit din pricina păcatului fiilor robiei.
