I n Jerusalem he made machines invented by skillful men to be on the towers and the bulwarks, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. And his fame spread far, for he was marvelously helped till he was strong.

A făcut la Ierusalim maşini iscodite de un meşter, cari aveau să fie aşezate pe turnuri şi pe unghiuri, ca să arunce săgeţi şi pietre mari. Faima lui s'a întins pînă departe, căci a fost ajutat în chip minunat pînă ce a ajuns foarte puternic.
