N ow Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him. And the king sent a man from before him. But before the messenger arrived, Elisha said to the elders, See how this son of a murderer is sending to remove my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold it fast against him. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?

Eliseo estaba sentado en su casa, en compañía de los ancianos, cuando el rey envió a él un emisario. Pero antes de que el emisario llegara, Eliseo les dijo a los ancianos: «¿Ya vieron cómo este asesino ha mandado a un hombre a cortarme la cabeza? Fíjense bien, y cuando llegue su emisario, cierren la puerta y no lo dejen entrar. ¡Tras ese hombre se oyen los pasos de su amo!»
