H oshea son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah; he smote and killed him, and reigned in his stead in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah.

Hoshea the son of Elah made plans against Pekah the son of Remaliah. He killed Pekah and became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.
