B ut Solomon made no slaves of the Israelites; they were the soldiers, his officials, attendants, commanders, captains, chariot officers, and horsemen.

وَلَمْ يُجْبِرْ سُلَيْمانُ أيّاً مِنْ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ عَلَى أنْ يَكُونوا عَبِيداً لَدَيهِ. بَلْ كانُوا جُنُوداً، وَمَسْؤُولِينَ إدارِيِّينَ، وَضُبّاطاً، وَمَسْؤُولِينَ كِباراً، وَقادَةَ مَركَباتِهِ، وفرساناً.
