A nd you have with you Shimei son of Gera, the Benjamite of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim. But he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, I will not put you to death with the sword.

“Saiba que também está com você Simei, filho de Gera, o benjamita de Baurim. Ele lançou terríveis maldições contra mim no dia em que fui a Maanaim. Mas depois desceu ao meu encontro no Jordão e lhe prometi, jurando pelo Senhor, que não o mataria à espada.
