A ll the people came to urge David to eat food while it was yet day; but David took an oath, saying, May God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else, till the sun is down.

Entonces todo el pueblo vino para persuadir a David que comiera, antes que acabara el día. Mas David juró diciendo: Así me haga Dios y aun me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, o cualquiera otra cosa.
