F or the king said to Joab the captain of the host who was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know their number.

Disse, pois, o rei a Joabe, chefe do exército, que estava com ele: Percorre todas as tribos de Israel, desde Dã até Berseba, e numera o povo, para que eu saiba o seu número.
