F or you love those who hate you and hate those who love you. You have declared today that princes and servants are nothing to you; for today I see that if Absalom had lived and all the rest of us had died, you would be well pleased.

Tu iubeşti pe ceice te urăsc, şi urăşti pe ceice te iubesc, căci arăţi azi că pentru tine nu sînt nici căpetenii nici slujitori; şi văd acum că, dacă ar trăi Absalom şi noi toţi am fi murit în ziua aceasta, lucrul acesta ţi-ar fi plăcut.
