J acob heard that had defiled Dinah his daughter. Now his sons were with his livestock in the field. So Jacob held his peace until they came.

Now Jacob heard that Shechem had put his daughter Dinah to shame. But his sons were with the flocks in the field, so Jacob kept quiet until they returned.
