N ow there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down into Egypt to live temporarily, for the famine in the land was oppressive (intense and grievous).

A venit însă o foamete în ţară; şi Avram s'a pogorît în Egipt, ca să locuiască pentru cîtăva vreme acolo; căci era mare foamete în ţară.
