A tëherë bijtë e Izraelit shkuan dhe qanë përpara Zotit deri në mbrëmje, dhe u konsultuan me Zotin, duke thënë: "A duhet ta vazhdoj luftën kundër bijve të Beniaminit, vëllait tim?". Zoti iu përgjegj: "Suluni kundër tyre".

The people of Israel went up and cried before the Lord until evening. They asked the Lord, “Should we go again in battle against our brothers the people of Benjamin?” And the Lord said, “Go fight against them.”
