P ërveç kësaj, me kërkesë të Danielit, mbreti vuri në krye të administratës së krahinës së Babilonisë Shadrakun, Meshakun dhe Abed-negon. Danieli përkundrazi mbeti në oborrin e mbretit.

And Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel was in the gate of the king.
