L ufta midis shtëpisë së Saulit dhe shtëpisë së Davidit qe e gjatë. Davidi bëhej gjithnjë më i fortë, ndërsa shtëpia e Saulit dobësohej gjithnjë e më shumë.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.
