P or populli u përgjigj: "Ti nuk duhet të vish, sepse po të na vënë përpara, nuk do të na jepnin rëndësi; edhe po të vdiste gjysma jonë, nuk do të na jepnin rëndësi; por ti vlen sa dhjetë mijë nga ne; është më mirë të rrish gati të na ndihmosh nga qyteti".

But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.
