t hat the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

las aguas que fluían de río arriba se detuvieron y se acumularon lejos de la ciudad de Adán, a un costado de Saretán, mientras que las aguas que bajaban al mar del Arabá y al Mar Salado se secaron por completo. Así las aguas del Jordán quedaron divididas, y el pueblo pasó y se encaminó hacia Jericó.
