A s also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.

come mi sono testimoni il sommo sacerdote e tutto il sinedrio, degli anziani, dai quali avendo anche ricevuto lettere per i fratelli, mi recavo a Damasco per condurre prigionieri a Gerusalemme anche quelli che erano là, perché fossero puniti.
