J oab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.

Joab aber, der Zeruja Sohn, der hatte angefangen zu zählen, und vollendete es nicht; denn es kam darum ein Zorn über Israel. Darum kam die Zahl nicht in die Chronik des Königs David.
