A nd David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

David le-a ieşit în întâmpinare şi i-a îndemnat astfel: – Dacă veniţi la mine cu gânduri bune, ca să mă ajutaţi, atunci inima mea se va uni cu voi, dar dacă vreţi să mă trădaţi duşmanilor mei, deşi nu sunt vinovat de nici o nelegiuire, Dumnezeul strămoşilor noştri să vadă şi să judece!
