T hen he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

Il prit alors son fils premier-né, qui devait régner à sa place, et il l'offrit en holocauste sur la muraille. Et une grande indignation s'empara d'Israël, qui s'éloigna du roi de Moab et retourna dans son pays.
