A nd they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.

Distrussero le città; riempirono di pietre ogni buon pezzo di terra, ciascuno gettandovi la sua; turarono tutte le sorgenti d’acqua e abbatterono tutti i buoni alberi. Non rimasero che le mura di Chir-Areset, e i tiratori di fionda la circondarono e l’attaccarono.
