A nd it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

Quando Acabe ouviu essas palavras, rasgou as suas vestes, vestiu-se de pano de saco e jejuou. Passou a dormir sobre panos de saco e agia com mansidão.
