E ntão Abimeleque subiu ao monte Zalmom, ele e todo o povo que com ele havia; e, tomando na mão um machado, cortou um ramo de árvore e, levantando-o, pô-lo ao seu ombro, e disse ao povo que estava com ele: O que me vistes fazer, apressai-vos a fazê-lo também.

So Abimelech and all who were with him went up to Mount Zalmon. Abimelech took an ax in his hand and cut down a branch from the trees. Then he lifted it onto his shoulder. He said to the men who were with him, “Hurry and do what you have seen me do.”
