A ssim foram abatidos os midianitas diante dos filhos de Israel, e nunca mais levantaram a cabeça. E a terra teve sossego, por quarenta anos nos dias de Gideão.

Thus was Midian subdued before the Israelites so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the land had peace and rest for forty years in the days of Gideon.
