P ois no oitavo ano do seu reinado, sendo ainda moço, começou a buscar o Deus de Davi, seu pai; e no duodécimo ano começou a purificar Judá e Jerusalém, dos altos, dos aserins e das imagens esculpidas e de fundição.

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherah poles, and the engraved images, and the molten images.
