P ois foi o próprio Senhor que lhes endureceu o coração para guerrearem contra Israel, para que ele os destruísse totalmente, exterminando-os sem misericórdia, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, that might destroy them utterly, and that without favor and mercy, as the Lord commanded Moses.
