B ut the people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has accomplished this great deliverance in Israel? Certainly not! As the Lord lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.

Poporul a zis lui Saul:,, Ce! Să moară Ionatan, el, care a făcut această mare izbăvire în Israel? Niciodată! Viu este Domnul, că un păr din capul lui nu va cădea la pămînt, căci cu Dumnezeu a lucrat el în ziua aceasta.`` Astfel poporul a scăpat pe Ionatan de la moarte.
