F or it was of the LORD to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly and that they might have no mercy, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Pois foi o próprio Senhor que lhes endureceu o coração para guerrearem contra Israel, para que ele os destruísse totalmente, exterminando-os sem misericórdia, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.
