А ко човекът отговореше: Не съм, тогава му казваха: Кажи Шиболет, а той казваше: Сиболет, защото не можеше да го произнесе правилно. Тогава го хващаха и го обезглавяваха при бродовете на Йордан. И в онова време загинаха от Ефрем четиридесет и две хиляди души.

then they said to him, “Now say ‘Shibboleth;’” and he said “Sibboleth”; for he couldn’t manage to pronounce it right: then they seized him, and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time, forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.
