1 Х ирам, царь города Тира, отправил к Давиду послов, каменщиков, плотников и кедровые бревна, чтобы построить ему дворец.

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

2 Д авид понял, что Господь утвердил его царем над Израилем, и что царство его высоко вознесено ради Его народа Израиля.

And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

3 В Иерусалиме Давид взял себе еще жен, и у него родились еще сыновья и дочери.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

4 В от имена детей, которые родились у него в Иерусалиме: Шаммуа, Шовав, Нафан, Соломон,

Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

5 И вхар, Елисуа, Элифелет,

And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

6 Н огах, Нефег, Иафия,

And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

7 Е лисама, Веелиада и Элифелет. Поражения филистимлян (2 Цар. 5: 17-25)

And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

8 У слышав о том, что Давид помазан в цари над всем Израилем, все филистимляне отправились искать его, но Давид узнал об этом и выступил против них.

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 Ф илистимляне пришли и принялись разбойничать в долине Рефаим.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

10 Д авид вопросил Бога: – Идти ли мне на филистимлян? Отдашь ли Ты их мне? Господь ответил ему: – Иди, Я отдам их в твои руки.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

11 Д авид со своими воинами пошел к Баал-Парециму и разбил там филистимлян. Он сказал: – Бог разбил моих врагов моей рукой, как прорвавшаяся вода. Поэтому то место и было названо Баал-Парецим.

So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.

12 Ф илистимляне бросили там своих богов, и по приказу Давида их сожгли.

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

13 Ф илистимляне снова принялись разбойничать в долине.

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

14 Д авид вновь спросил Бога, и Бог ответил ему: – Не нападай на них отсюда, но обойди их и напади на них со стороны бальзамовых деревьев.

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

15 К ак только ты услышишь в вершинах бальзамовых деревьев шум как от шагов, тотчас же вступай в бой, потому что Бог вышел перед тобой, чтобы разбить войско филистимлян.

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

16 Д авид сделал так, как повелел ему Бог, и они разили филистимское войско всю дорогу от Гаваона до Гезера.

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

17 С лава Давида прошла по всем странам, и Господь навел страх перед ним на все народы.

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
