1 Н екоторое время спустя Давид разбил филистимлян, подчинил их и взял Метег-Гаамму из рук филистимлян.

And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Е ще Давид разбил моавитян. Он положил их на землю и отмерил их веревкой. Каждые две веревки были преданы смерти, а третьей была оставлена жизнь. Так моавитяне стали у Давида рабами, платящими дань.

And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

3 Е ще Давид разбил Ададезера, сына Рехова, царя Цовы, когда тот шел, чтобы восстановить свою власть у реки Евфрата.

David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

4 Д авид захватил тысячу семьсот всадников и двадцать тысяч пеших воинов. Он подрезал сухожилия всем колесничным коням, оставив из них лишь сотню.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

5 К огда на помощь Ададезеру, царю Цовы, пришли арамеи из Дамаска, Давид поразил из них двадцать две тысячи человек.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 О н разместил войска в царстве дамасских арамеев, и арамеи стали его рабами и платили ему дань. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы он ни ходил.

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

7 Д авид взял золотые щиты, которые принадлежали приближенным Ададезера, и принес их в Иерусалим.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 А из Теваха и Беротая, городов, принадлежавших Ададезеру, царь Давид взял очень много бронзы.

And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

9 К огда Фой, царь Хамата, услышал, что Давид разбил все войско Ададезера,

When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

10 о н послал к царю Давиду своего сына Иорама, чтобы приветствовать его и поздравить с победой над Ададезером, который вел с Фоем войну. Иорам привез с собой изделия из серебра, золота и бронзы.

Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

11 Ц арь Давид посвятил и эти изделия Господу, вместе с серебром и золотом, взятым у всех народов, которые он покорил:

Which also king David did dedicate unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

12 у Эдома и Моава, аммонитян и филистимлян, и Амалика. Еще он посвятил добычу, взятую у Ададезера, царя Цовы, сына Рехова.

Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13 Д авид прославился после того, как перебил восемнадцать тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине.

And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

14 О н поставил войска по всему Эдому, и все эдомитяне стали его рабами. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы он ни ходил. Приближенные Давида (2 Цар. 20: 23-26; 1 Пар. 18: 14-17)

And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

15 Д авид правил всем Израилем, верша суд и правду для всего своего народа.

And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

16 И оав, сын Саруи, был начальником войска; Иосафат, сын Ахилуда, был летописцем;

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

17 Ц адок, сын Ахитува, и Ахимелех, сын Авиатара, были священниками; Серая был писарем;

And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

18 В анея, сын Иодая, был над керетитами и пелетитами; а сыновья Давида были первыми при дворе.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
