1 N ow it came about when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had captured Ai, and had utterly destroyed it (just as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were within their land,

А като чу ерусалимският цар Адониседек, че Исус превзел Гай и го обрекъл на изтребление, и че както сторил на Ерихон и на царя му така сторил на Гай и на царя му, и че жителите на Гаваон сключили мир с Израиля и останали между тях,

2 t hat he feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.

уплашиха се много, <той и людете му>, защото Гаваон беше голям град, като един от царските градове, и защото беше по-голям от Гай, и всичките му мъже бяха силни.

3 T herefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron and to Piram king of Jarmuth and to Japhia king of Lachish and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,

За това, ерусалимският цар Адониседек прати до хевронския цар Оам, до ярмутския цар Пирам, до лахийския цар Яфий и до еглонския цар Девир, да рекат:

4 “ Come up to me and help me, and let us attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and with the sons of Israel.”

Дойдете при мене та ми помогнете, и нека поразим Гаваон, защото сключил мир с Исуса и с израилтяните.

5 S o the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered together and went up, they with all their armies, and camped by Gibeon and fought against it.

И така, събраха се тия петима аморейски царе: ерусалимският цар, хевронският цар, ярмутският цар, лахийският цар и еглонският цар, та отидоха, те и всичките им войнства, и разположиха стана си пред Гаваон и воюваха против него.

6 T hen the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua to the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Do not abandon your servants; come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites that live in the hill country have assembled against us.”

Тогава гаваонците пратиха до Исуса в стана у Галгал да рекат: Да не оттеглиш ръка от слугите си; скоро дойди при нас и избави ни и помогни ни, защото се събраха против нас всичките аморейски царе, които живеят в хълмистите места.

7 S o Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him and all the valiant warriors.

И тъй, Исус се качи от Галгал, той и всичките военни люде с него, и всичките силни и храбри мъже.

8 T he Lord said to Joshua, “ Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands; not one of them shall stand before you.”

И Господ каза на Исуса: Да се не убоиш от тях, защото ги предадох в ръката ти; никой от тях няма да устои пред тебе.

9 S o Joshua came upon them suddenly by marching all night from Gilgal.

Исус, прочее, дойде върху тях внезапно, като беше се качвал цяла нощ от Галгал.

10 A nd the Lord confounded them before Israel, and He slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and pursued them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

И Господ ги смути пред Израиля; и <Исус> ги порази с голямо поражение в Гаваон, и гони ги из нагорнището, по което се отива за Веторон, и поразяваше ги до Азика и до Макида.

11 A s they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, the Lord threw large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.

А като бягаха от Израиля и бяха в надолнището при Веторон, Господ хвърляше на тях големи камъни от небето до Азика, та измряха; умрелите от камъните на градушката бяха по-много от ония, които израилтяните убиха с нож.

12 T hen Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon.”

Тогава говори Исус Господу, в деня когато Господ предаде аморейците на израилтяните, като рече пред очите на Израиля: Застани, слънце, над Гаваон, И ти, луно, над долината Еалон.

13 S o the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

И слънцето застана и луната се спря, Догдето мъздовъздадоха людете на неприятелите си. Това не е ли записано в Книгата на Праведния? Слънцето застана всред небето, и не побърза да дойде почти цял ден.

14 T here was no day like that before it or after it, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.

Такъв ден не е имало ни по-напред ни после, щото <така> да послуша Господ човешки глас; защото Господ воюваше за Израиля,

15 T hen Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp to Gilgal. Victory at Makkedah

След това Исус се върна, и целият Израил с него, в стана у Галгал.

16 N ow these five kings had fled and hidden themselves in the cave at Makkedah.

А ония петима царе побягнаха та се скриха в пещерата при Макида.

17 I t was told Joshua, saying, “The five kings have been found hidden in the cave at Makkedah.”

Известиха, прочее, на Исуса, казвайки: Петимата царе се намериха скрити в пещерата при Макида.

18 J oshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and assign men by it to guard them,

И Исус каза: Привалете големи камъни на входа на пещерата и поставете човеци при нея да ги пазят;

19 b ut do not stay there yourselves; pursue your enemies and attack them in the rear. Do not allow them to enter their cities, for the Lord your God has delivered them into your hand.”

а вие не стойте; гонете неприятелите си и поразете най-последните от тях; не ги оставяйте да влязат в градовете си, защото Господ вашият Бог ги предаде в ръцете ви.

20 I t came about when Joshua and the sons of Israel had finished slaying them with a very great slaughter, until they were destroyed, and the survivors who remained of them had entered the fortified cities,

И когато Исус и израилтяните ги поразиха с твърде голямо клане, догдето бяха изтребени, и останалите от тях, които оцеляха, влязоха в укрепени градове,

21 t hat all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace. No one uttered a word against any of the sons of Israel.

тогава всичките люде се върнаха с мир в стана при Исуса у Макида; никой не поклати език против някого от израилтяните.

22 T hen Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave and bring these five kings out to me from the cave.”

Тогава рече Исус: Отворете входа на пещерата та изведете при мене ония петима царе из пещерата.

23 T hey did so, and brought these five kings out to him from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

И сториха така, и изведоха при него ония петима царе из пещерата: ерусалимския цар, хевронския цар, ярмутския цар, лахиския цар и еглонския цар.

24 W hen they brought these kings out to Joshua, Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who had gone with him, “Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came near and put their feet on their necks.

И като изведоха при Исуса ония царе, Исус повика всичките Израилеви мъже и рече на началниците на военните мъже, които бяха ходили с него: Приближете се, турете нозете си на вратовете на тия царе, и те се приближиха и туриха нозете си на вратовете им.

25 J oshua then said to them, “ Do not fear or be dismayed! Be strong and courageous, for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies with whom you fight.”

Исус още им каза: Не бойте се, нито се страхувайте, бъдете силни и дръзновени, понеже така ще стори Господ на всичките ви неприятели, против които воювате.

26 S o afterward Joshua struck them and put them to death, and he hanged them on five trees; and they hung on the trees until evening.

А подир това Исус ги порази, уби ги и ги обеси на пет дървета; и висяха на дърветата до вечерта.

27 I t came about at sunset that Joshua gave a command, and they took them down from the trees and threw them into the cave where they had hidden themselves, and put large stones over the mouth of the cave, to this very day.

А при захождането на слънцето Исус заповяда, та ги снеха от дърветата, хвърлиха ги в пещерата, гдето бяха се скрили, и във входа на пещерата туриха големи камъни, <които стоят там> и до днес.

28 N ow Joshua captured Makkedah on that day, and struck it and its king with the edge of the sword; he utterly destroyed it and every person who was in it. He left no survivor. Thus he did to the king of Makkedah just as he had done to the king of Jericho. Joshua’s Conquest of Southern Palestine

В същия ден Исус превзе Макида и порази нея и царя й с острото на ножа; изтреби като обречени, тях и колкото души имаше в нея, не остави <никого> да избяга {Еврейски: да оцелее.}; стори на макидския цар както бе сторил на ерихонския цар.

29 T hen Joshua and all Israel with him passed on from Makkedah to Libnah, and fought against Libnah.

След това Исус и целият Израил с него премина от Макида в Ливна и воюваше против Ливна.

30 T he Lord gave it also with its king into the hands of Israel, and he struck it and every person who was in it with the edge of the sword. He left no survivor in it. Thus he did to its king just as he had done to the king of Jericho.

И Господ предаде и нея и царя й в ръката на Израиля; и порази с острото на ножа си нея и колкото души имаше в нея; не остави <никого> да избяга от нея; и стори на царя й както бе сторил на ерихонския цар.

31 A nd Joshua and all Israel with him passed on from Libnah to Lachish, and they camped by it and fought against it.

После Исус и целият Израил с него премина от Ливна в Лахис, разположи стан срещу него, и воюваше против него.

32 T he Lord gave Lachish into the hands of Israel; and he captured it on the second day, and struck it and every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

И Господ предаде Лахис в ръката на Израиля; и превзеха го на втория ден, и поразиха с острото на ножа него и колкото души имаше в него, според всичко що сториха на Ливна.

33 T hen Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish, and Joshua defeated him and his people until he had left him no survivor.

Тогава гезерският цар Орам дойде да помогне на Лахис; но Исус поразяваше него и людете му, догдето не му остави остатък.

34 A nd Joshua and all Israel with him passed on from Lachish to Eglon, and they camped by it and fought against it.

И от Лахис, Исус и целият Израил с него, премина в Еглон, разположиха стан срещу него, и воюваха против него;

35 T hey captured it on that day and struck it with the edge of the sword; and he utterly destroyed that day every person who was in it, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

и в същия ден го превзеха и поразиха го с острото на ножа; в същия ден <Исус> изтреби, като обречени, колкото души имаше в него, според всичко, що стори в Лахис.

36 T hen Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron, and they fought against it.

После Исус и целият Израил с него отиде от Еглон в Хеврон, и воюваха против него;

37 T hey captured it and struck it and its king and all its cities and all the persons who were in it with the edge of the sword. He left no survivor, according to all that he had done to Eglon. And he utterly destroyed it and every person who was in it.

и като го превзеха, поразиха с острото на ножа него, царя му, всичките му градове и колкото души имаше в него; не остави <никого> да избяга, според всичко, що стори на Еглон, но изтреби него и колкото души имаше в него.

38 T hen Joshua and all Israel with him returned to Debir, and they fought against it.

А след това Исус и целият Израил с него се върна в Девир и воюва против него;

39 H e captured it and its king and all its cities, and they struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed every person who was in it. He left no survivor. Just as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir and its king, as he had also done to Libnah and its king.

и превзе него, царя му и всичките му градове; и поразиха ги с острото на ножа, и изтребиха колкото души имаше в него; не остави <никого> да избяга {Еврейски: да оцелее.}; стори на Девир и на царя му както стори на Хеврон, и както бе сторил на Ливна и на царя й.

40 T hus Joshua struck all the land, the hill country and the Negev and the lowland and the slopes and all their kings. He left no survivor, but he utterly destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.

Така Исус порази цялата хълмиста, южна и полянска земя, и подгорията, и всичките им царе; не остави <никого> да избяга, но изтреби всичко, що дишаше, според както Господ Израилевият Бог беше заповядал.

41 J oshua struck them from Kadesh-barnea even as far as Gaza, and all the country of Goshen even as far as Gibeon.

Исус ги порази от Кадис-варни до Газа, и цялата Гесенска земя до Гаваон.

42 J oshua captured all these kings and their lands at one time, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Всички тия царе и земята им Исус превзе изведнъж, защото Господ Израилевият Бог воюваше за Израиля.

43 S o Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp at Gilgal.

Тогава Исус и целият Израил с него се завърна в стана у Галгал.
